Opportunities for pitching in at the garden

The Vegetable Project offers many opportunities to make a difference by pitching in at the garden, caring for plants independently or with groups that get together, on your own schedule or ours, working with kids or without, and as part of one-time events or recurring activities. Here are a few:

Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at our Myers garden, throughout the summer, starting on June 22We communicate to kids that this is a summertime extension of our after-school Garden Club. Whether we attract many or few, it’s a great opportunity for friends to work together to ensure that the garden is ready for students when school opens in September.

Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at our Albany High School garden, throughout the summer. We are doing garden chores, building garden structures and inviting high school students to come around also. We’ll be there at this time all summer long and would be pleased to have more company.

Watering and completion of other garden chores independently at both locations, through mid-October. You can sign up here to water at our Myers Middle School garden and here to water at Albany High School.
