As we continue to expand our garden, learn more about nurturing plants through the cold months, reach out to classroom teachers and reach out to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students, I want to note how much your support means to our effort and suggest a couple of specific says that you can help.
First, would you consider joining our summer garden watering crew? In the best of possible worlds, friends of the Vegetable Project will commit to watering the garden at Myers Middle School every day from now until the middle of October. We would be grateful, if you would pitch in once or once in a while or maybe even on a specific day of each week. In return, we will encourage you to harvest some vegetables while you are in the garden. And you will know that you are making a great contribution to the students at Myers.
And then, please, please, please keep an eye out for Box Tops for Education labels on dozens upon dozens of packaged food and other household products. If you’ll save them and get them to us now and then, we can redeem them for 10 cents each. It isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. But it does add up to a couple hundred dollars a year for the Vegetable Project. Please drop them off at Myers Middle School or get in touch to arrange a hand-off.

Thanks again for all of your encouragement.
